Sunkist Dogs Among 2011 NADAC Overall Top 10

NADAC lists its overall (all breeds combined) Top 10 by class each year. Once again, Sunkist has a presence on those lists.

CH Sunkist Shake Rattle And Roll (Boogie) placed in six of the seven categories. In Hoopers he was the #1 overall dog in all of NADAC. In addition, he was the #1 Border Terrier for 2011.

Judge Harriet Haydon with Best of Breed Winner, Walker.

I was honored to be invited to judge the Borders at Montogomery County KC in Pennsylvania. This is the largest gathering of Borders after our national specialty every year. What a thrill it was to find such a quality dog and I was delighted to give Walker Best of Breed. He held up so well in 80+ degree temperatures, better than I did! Plan to see Walker puppies here at Sunkist in the coming year.

To earn a 100+ run index, the times are compared for all dogs of the same height class from all dogs in the United States, Canada and Australia on that course over the last year. The 2 - 3 % of fastest times earn a 100+ run index. To date Boogie has earned 21 100+ run indexes.

Sunkist Shines at the North American Dog Agility Championships

Four Sunkist dogs and their handlers attended the NADAC Championships held October 13-16, 2011 in Springfield, Illinois.

Three of the teams scored enough points in the first seven grueling rounds to make it to the Finals. Billie Rosen & Kruz'n - 4/8" Double Digit dogs, Billie Rosen & Klev'r- 4/8" Vet/Jr Handler, and Mike Mason & Boogie - 12/16" Standard dogs.

Billie with Kruz'n and Billie with Klev'r each came in 2nd overall in their respective divisions! Mike with Boogie came in5th overall in their division.

Klev'r went the entire Championships without a fault!

There were 1,665 Regular runs at the Championships. Out of that, only 58 runs were fast enough to qualify a 100+ run index (which means they were super fast). Mike and Boogie qualified for one of those 100+ run indexes (see video on the Video page of this website).

The fourth Sunkist team to participate was Billie Rosen and her youngster Book'n. Book'n had some great runs and did extremely well for her first showing at the Championships.

"Boogie" earned his Coursing Aptitude title in August 2011. To earn this title he had to chase a lure for 600 yards successfully in less than two minutes at three different events. His average time was 1:05.

Harriet Haydon Awarded GOLD Bred-By-Exhibitor Medallion

In April 2010, Harriet was awarded the Gold Bred-By-Exhibitor medallion. Bred-By-Exhibitor medallions are awarded to those exhibitors that complete all points required for their conformation championship title by advancing to the winners competition from the Bred-by-Exhibitor class.

These Special Medallions are in recognition of each individual's valuable contribution to the sport of purebred dogs, who as the breeder-owner-handler of ten different dogs that have become champions of record.
